In the Slums of Zaun, the city of Iron and Glass, a girl leans back to a wall. Her parents left her when she was little, because they worked too hard and earned too little to feed their child. They couldn't kill her but they hoped that maybe one of the privileged Piltovers would find her and have a heart. But most of the people down here are merciless and so she grew up in the dark alleys. Here often the people who have nothing get assaulted and robbed.

Laisha thinks: Someone coughs behind that Gray, probably looking for someone. Why does this keep happening to me? Again such scum comes here. Directly at me. You can see it in his eyes, the delight; Do you see the way his corners of his mouth twitch?

The man comes closer, Laisha remembers what her parents said, when they left her when she was 6. They said: "Laisha, Laisha, you won't be alone... Laisha we have to go... Janna will be there for you, if you believe in her and pray... If you pray to Janna, she will protect you... surely"

Laisha thinks: Please Janna, I don't know if you really exist... Janna I know that my parents would be the ones who could help me here, but... but they're not here... Janna please help me once. I need you... you're the only one who could help me. Everytime I think of you, the Gray disappears a bit and I can feel a breeze. You have to exist…

Suddenly a scary torrent of wind sweeps through the alley breaking the windows. Shattered glass clinks and covers the ground. The man withdraws. At this moment Laisha realizes that people fear sharp shards. She began to collect them to be forearmed for the next time.

Some years later: Laisha sits on top of a roof and cleans a mirror, she found a while back.

Laisha thinks: So little darling, you'll be clean in a second... AH, those people will never learn. So fancy dressed... this can only be the wife of a factory owner. Maybe she can spare a bit of her wealth, she worked so hard for.

Laisha positions herself, she takes her mirror and reflects the sunlight. Then she waits for the right moment and whistles loudly. The lady looks up and Laisha dazzles her with the mirror. Because it's so dark down here a sudden glimpse into bright light is way more sudden and painful. In this brief moment of stumbling Laisha jumps down and throws glass shards, nailing down her victim.

However, it seemed the woman Laisha ambushed wasn't normal. She suddenly appeared behind her. She couldn't hit her with the shards.

Laisha thinks: What the hell. She looked so powerless... My bag... where are all my... Are they already gone? Oh my.... I gotta run... I gotta get the hell outa here!

Laisha speeds up and feels a strength she never felt before. On the run she blinks around the corners. She always talked to herself, she thought. She hears voices in her head now. Looking back Laisha catches sight of other figures looking like her…

The girl reaches a roof and thinks she is fine for now. But the woman's voice sounds.

LeBlanc: "Girl,...quite amazing what you can do...still no match to me... nobody can fool me... But even though, I thought no one else is capable of doing such things..."

Laisha: "Who are you? What are you?"

LeBlanc: "Evaine, the leader of the Black Rose..."

Laisha: "Why are you here?"

LeBlanc thinks: It finally paid off, killing parents of children, who have the potential power to use magic. Such power can only be awakened by pain, sorrow and fear.

LeBlanc: "I'm here for you now... You have potential... I'm not going to harm you... It's the right way to avenge and punish the traitors... You are going with me and I show you how to use real magic for real reasons."

Even if the methods were ruthless and wrong, LeBlanc still was right. In Laisha the spirit of one of the "God’s of the Desert’s Sun" manifested itself. A lost power that was only known through old stories. Old stories, that slowly began to be forgotten.

During the golden age of the great Shuriman emperor there have been very many people of high skill and knowledge, who were essential for his power. Some of them were even more powerful, wiser and older than him. People who were given the name "Gods of the Desert's Sun" by the populace.
The common people thought they would lead the empire from behind, but they were wrong...
Not thirsty for political power,...
manifestation of talent,...
they became one with their endowment,...
they fully devoted themselves to their art, their power,... Neither have they opened schools or were masters. They secluded themselves, and vanished; their only remains were a few old stories and their spirits, which began to wander around.
